The Martin Mars (water bomber plane) should be stationed in the Okanagan.
The millions it has cost to fight fires here compared to the $5 million to purchase this water bomber seem like peanuts. Fire season will be here again.
We should prepare ourselves and be on the offence rather than the loosing defence.
Separately, the fines and charges against those who start fires should be multiplied by 10 and (there should be) serious jail time for “fire-bugs” (arsonists).
