Re.: KGH ICU well over capacity (Castanet, Oct. 18)
Those of us of a certain age will remember Monty Python’s famous running sketch “Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition.”
It became a verbal meme (no internet back then) that was used whenever something unexpected occurred.
In today’s society, we have people who won’t mask up or get the vaccination because (they believe) it won’t happen to them.
I know our valiant health care professionals, currently dealing with 160% capacity in ICU beds at KGH would never stoop so low as to say “Nobody expects the Covid Acquisition.” But they should.
And for those us going down memory lane, also remember the old Kung Fu television series adage: “Expect the unexpected”.
It could happen to you when you least expect it. Be prepared. Wear a mask. Get the shot. Be part of the solution, not the problem.

Re.: ICU overload.
Why don’t they treat unvaccinated Covid cases the same as they do cancer, heart, liver, kidney etc. and make them wait in line too?
