Response to 'line in the sand'

Re: Letter by Ricky Daytona: ‘Line in the sand’ (Castanet, Oct. 13)

Ricky, do you realize that when vaccines were first found and utilized the general public were inoculated in much the same fashion as today?

Vaccines testing was far less stringent than it is today and far less safe.

Do you think people went around complaining their rights were being trampled in the days of tuberculosis and smallpox? Polio? What about when insulin was developed and diabetics got to live a more normal life due to testing?

I'm talking about the "testing" you refer to. I know diabetes isn’t a flu bug.
