Work together, not against

My take on this debate and common question in Canada. I know our vaccinations numbers have increased significantly. Although, some people do not wish to get vaccinated and for me, that’s okay! It’s a free country. You should not have to be forced to put something in your body if you truly do not believe in it. Making it mandatory to be vaccinated to travel outside of the country is a little controlling from our government in my opinion.

I am nursing student so I have to be up to date on all my vaccinations because I will be on the front lines one day like the brave and courageous health care workers were a year and half ago or so. I am now fully vaccinated. I wear the mask to protect myself further and to protect the people around me in my community.

In conclusion with this new mask order, wear a mask if you can please, vaccinate yourself and family if you wish to so we can all go back to living our lives and becoming happy again. This pandemic put a huge toll on everyone’s mental health from being locked up away from vulnerable loved ones, to being on the front lines day in and day out and seeing your patients suffer every single hour of every single day and to not being able to be there when your loved ones pass away from this horrible virus. So please, wear a mask to protect families and members of this community.

For me personally, I wear a mask and got vaccinated so I can spend time with my grandparents and to be able to hug them tight and tell them how much I love them. Honestly, the more we work together instead of against each other, the faster life will become to feel “normal” again and we can get back to enjoying this wonderful life in this wonderful country.
