Youth will vape anyways

Re: Poll vape flavour ban

I’m writing in response to the vaping poll. I do vape, however, I don’t purchase the sweet flavours in my vape juice. I don’t agree that our youth are trying the vapes because it tastes good, it’s peer pressure and it’s been around since the beginning of time, and peer pressure will never go away. I tried smoking when I was a teen, I recently quit smoking from using my vape. Do you think that maybe it will help a young teen or adult get off of the worst addiction known to man?!

I’ve spoken with young adults and asked them why they chose to vape and none of them said it’s because of the flavour, one in particular chose to vape because he wanted to quit his habit of chewing tobacco. Our youth are going to try things regardless of what it is. That being said, coming from a person who vapes not because of the way it tastes I do not think our government should ban the stuff that tastes delicious as much as I hate the sweet stuff myself. Another thing I have an issue with as well is the capping of the nicotine at 20mg, 20mg was not enough to get me off of cigarettes.

I smoked a pack or more a day and I needed 30 mg to kick my habit. It’s nice to have that option for us adults that wish to quit smoking. I think it’s ridiculous that people think the taste of something is going to attract our youth when the nasty smokes and gross liquor had attracted us when we were younger. They’re going to try it if we tell them not to anyway.
