Looking at the size and scope of the new residential complex at the former Hiawatha park leaves me speechless.
I can only assume that there will be an overpass over lakeshore to move 1,000 plus people to the already summer crowded beach, and a traffic light.
The fun part though is the traffic. Within 100 meters or so We have the beach entry, Playa del sol, The Eldorado, Manteo, and the new 8 buildings at 10 stories each. That is one heck of alot of vehicles in a short space.
The folks living up Kettle Valley way are already having problems with increased traffic on Lakeshore. This will make it horrible.
Obviously the City of Kelowna has developed a traffic moving plan as the project has been approved since 2007.
I cannot see anything dealing with that congestion, but what do I know I have only lived here for 44 years watching 100s of new developments.
