I remember back in the 1990’s, we were all expected to cut back on our electrical usage. Furnaces were more efficient if they were gas and one was charged a surcharge if their furnace was electric. Summer AC usage created electrical blackouts. When purchasing new appliances, we were all expected to purchase with low energy consumption . Thanks to this, we now all live with clothes washers that don’t clean properly. We have CFL lightbulbs that don’t give off any light, and will give us all vision problems, while contaminating us with mercury.
Fast track to 2020, anything natural gas powered in the home is taboo — electric is considered more desirable. We’re all expected to drive electric powered vehicles. E-bikes have become commonplace. All our appliances and furnaces should be electric. Society cannot do without our electronics...computers, gaming consoles, cell phones, etc. I would sure like to know where all the electricity is going to come from, given that new electric projects are being condemned...Site C?
