Quite the show of force

I just trucked through the Hope-Princeton highway, I do this a couple times a week. There were three signs warning me of the check stop the government threatened to put up. Imagine my surprise when I got to Manning Park and there was the COVID check stop.

Travelling this route has been easy the past few weeks as the traffic has been almost non existent. I figured if they did have a check stop, two rcmp would be enough to handle the few cars on the road.

I couldn't count fast enough, between 16 and 20 officers standing on the side of the road. No traffic in sight. All these guys properly adorned with their masks several standing in the "pose," hands on hips, feet apart, sunglasses.

Perhaps there was threats of an armed insurrection in Manning Park, maybe the anti-maskers were going to drive to Manning to protest. I don't know.

I do know it is tough to get the rcmp to respond to citizens complaints of theft and vandalism. It is tough to get police to patrol our high crime areas. I do know they were out in force at manning park. If the anti-maskers attack, my money is on the cops.
