Consider your dog

COVID19 and variants have given many people plenty of spare time. The dog, a perfect companion for outdoor activities, has benefited. However, having just seen a young dog struggling at the end of a leash to keep up with its owner on a bike, I am writing to suggest that newbie dog owners check the internet for helpful information on how to cycle with your dog's health and safety in mind.

There is lots of good information online. Please remember that although your dog wants to go everywhere with you, he or she wears a fur coat year-round, and is physically unable to cool down sufficiently while panting and running. If a dog is young, old, or obese, ask your vet about a suitable exercise program for your best outdoors companion.
