I think it's appalling, what happened to the lady's cat in Rutland. How anyone can torture or kill a living, trusting animal is far beyond me. I want to urge pet owners, especially cat owners to be responsible with your pets and keep them in your home or on a leash when out.
Many people believe cats need to go outside and wander and this just is not safe. There are far too many people who hate cats and will intentionally poison, torture and kill them and then there are the safety issues of roads and dogs.
When you make the decision to acquire an animal, along with that decision comes responsibility. For the sake of all pets we love and who are a part of our families, please keep your pets safe and in a controlled environment.
