A book was a bad idea

Dear Bonnie Henry,

You should be ashamed of yourself by writing a book about your role in the pandemic! Talk about crass opportunism and self-aggrandizement! The news has reported that you and your sister have "donated your advances to charity," but, then again, that's not really the point, is it? Do you think that makes it all OK?

We are still in the middle of the pandemic. The virus is still raging the world. People are dying, people are locked in their homes, traffic at food banks is at an all time high. Businesses are shut down and/or going bankrupt, children are receiving substandard educations, seniors are dying alone, women are being assaulted by the very people hired to protect them, returning travellers are being forced into prison hotels against their will, your boss forced an unwanted election on the province, and you are exploiting all of this misery for what, exactly?

And where, exactly, did you even find the time? I thought you were working tirelessly to protect the citizens of BC, no?

Lloyd Vinish, Kelowna
