In her infinite wisdom

In her infinite wisdom, Dr. Bonnie Henry does it again. Insisting that locking us all down will somehow stop the LTC residents from dying.... At least I can only surmise that is her plan. As we know the majority of deaths are occurring in these facilities.

My sister-in-law works in a LTC facility in the Northern Health region. She called my husband and laughed at the news headlines "Northern Health LTC Workers Exhausted and Overworked by Covid". They're not exhausted by Covid, they're exhausted because their co-workers won't come to work because they are too afraid. She's been working 12 hour days 5-6 days a week and begged to work more because she is one of the few staff that are willing to show up to work. Who suffers from that?

The residents! The most vulnerable people.

She tells us that, before Covid, when it was flu season, they would change their mask and other PPE between each ward to help stop any potential spread. Now, since the pandemic started, they use the same PPE all day, from ward to ward.

Dr. Henry is not addressing the real problems at all. She's a disgrace. Locking the rest of us down because she can't get a proper handle on the LTC protocols and encourage better pandemic pay to encourage people to show up and care for our vulnerable population.

Essentially, she is blaming us for her lack of leadership. People who got together for the holidays are not the problem. The protocols are the problem. We need to stop blaming the people for the government's inept responses.
