At each other like cats, dogs

Not only is COVID making people sick, it’s virtually turning people into monsters! Every day I read these letters to the editor in absolute shock at the blatant disrespect and name calling from what I assume are adults.

What ever happened to being able to just express yourself and your opinion without being so awful and rude to one another? It IS possible to do and while being respectful.

I already anticipate the backlash of “well anti-maskers don’t show respect when they refuse to wear their mask!” OK, that’s your opinion - steer clear of anyone you see in public not wearing one. Yes, it’s easier said than done but it’s not impossible. Everyone is able to do that without going out of their way to be so ignorant.

“Everyone is conforming to the mandates and blindly following like sheep!” OK, and that’s their right if they choose to do so. Let them do it in peace. Daily, these letters get meaner and more cruel to fellow humans.

We are a community with all sorts of people with all sorts of beliefs and practices. We don’t walk around calling people down for any of their other opinions that freedom of speech and thought allow them to have with so much rage and aggression. Why does this have to be the time for such insane behaviour? Pre-school is where we learn “if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all”.

Treat people as you would like to be treated and stop the vicious sarcasm and name calling. It’s very sad to see a lack of ability to express oneself without such cruelty.
