I have a problem with this new building prososal on the waterfront. It's a nice thought but are we aiming to be Vancouver??? Part of the beauty of Kelowna is the view from where ever you are and the small town feeling that we portray.
Buildings like that on the water are only going to add to the pollution on the lake not to mention blocking views for kilometers back. I couldn't imagine driving down bridge hill to come into town and seeing these huge big buildings instead of grass and beach.
The City was talking about the problem with so many boats docking in that area-well what is putting high rises there going to do?
We already have lots of tourism money in Kelowna. Is it worth losing
our lake front for more? I don't think so.
If in the next ten years it fills up with high rise buildings and the beaches disappear we are going to lose a lot of tourism. How will the City limit the development of high rise downtown if is permits this project? If this one goes up-there will be more and very quickly. Come on Kelowna, lets keep our beaches sacrid and stand up for the lakefront!!
