Keep churches open

Re: Don't single out churches

I am writing this letter in support of Dr. Wilson’s comments in his letter dated November 23, 2020, regarding the closure of churches.

I have felt and continue to feel the same ever since hearing the news in a letter from our Bishop that our church would be closed due to the new directive from Dr. Bonnie Henry.

Our church has done everything that the government has asked for in ensuring our church is adhering to the protocol of a sanitized environment for our parishioners to attend Mass.

Going to church is not just going to a building.  Going to Mass is an integral part of every Catholic’s life.  It is a time of coming to the House of the Lord to receive the Holy Eucharist.

I respectfully ask that Dr. Henry reconsider her directive so that the faithful, no matter what denomination or religious affiliation, may continue to attend their place of worship.
