I 100% agree with G.B.! There are many people out there that are capable of working, but when your getting money for nothing why bother. There are lots of people on welfare that are on welfare not because they have to be, but because it's there. When your on EI, they do everything to get you out there and help you find a job as they don't want tax dollars being spent on that. Well why not put the welfare recipients to work. I don't receive "free cheque" every month.
If they started having to work for their welfare cheque - I bet that within no time at all a lot of them would have their self-esteem as well as the motivation to look for a better/more enjoyable job. It would kill two birds with one stone. I bet that more of our hard earned tax dollars go to welfare than medical, and if we need more money to keep the public health system running-than cutbacks have to be made somewhere else! It's too easy to get a welfare cheque in this province and it's the lazy man's scapegoat!
