It’s not a game. But, the way some people drive in the Okanagan, you’d think so.
Every day, you see drivers approach stop signs at speed, then slow to make a right turn, assuming if no one is coming they can roll through.
The same goes for tailgating and not slowing down or giving room to vehicles making a right turn. You don’t know if something or someone moves in front of them, causing them to brake. Keeping speed or speeding up when a vehicle is turning in front of you or a pedestrian/cyclist is crossing.
These are all dangerous games people play every day on the roads here.
We read about them several times a day. What you don’t read about is the lifelong pain and suffering their victims must endure.
I blame ICBC for a lack of true penalties for people who find it difficult to follow the rules of the road.
If you drive like there’s a cop behind you all the time, the roads would be much safer.
