I think we in Kelowna are blessed with one of the most beautiful areas in our country. Our record with the community in bloom competition speaks for itself.
However if I were a judge visiting our fair city to evaluate what Kelowna has to offer, my trip from the airport to downtown would be disappointing at best.
At the airport entrance we have a gravel pit. As we get closer to the city we have the old expo building and then the one that really bugs me is the metal recyclers at McCurdy. Who the heck licensed that business at that location? It is ridiculous and an embarrassment to us all.
The city has done an admirable job with the trees and roses planted in the median and then off to the side we have a scrap metal operation without any attempt to even disguise it or fence it off.
Come on Kelowna city council get this thing moved. What does everyone else think?
