Take a stand on guns

Donald Trump's goal when he first set out as president was to make America great again.

So far, he's not even close, in my eyes.

I'm all for the right to bear arms, but you have to get rid of all the automatic assault rifles. All of them. I didn't think he would let the NRA dictate gun policy in America.

Stand up and be the first president to stand up for all the dead these weapons have killed.

Every time they have a mass shooting, every president says they are going to stand up and make a change. Then, as soon as Americans calm a bit and bury their dead, the government folds again to the NRA.

There is no time the average person needs an assault rifle. Rather than spend all that money on a wall, how about every member of the NRA make a stand at the border with their assault rifles?

Trump keeps saying the border is a threat to America, but that's so far from the truth. The biggest threat is Americans killing Americans.

Be the first president with the balls to stand up to the NRA. He would leave office being the first president in U.S. history to stand up to gun violence. That's more important than even being re-elected and would leave the greatest legacy of any president.

Stop the violence and killing American citizens. Come on, President Trump – be the first to have a backbone and address this issue.

J. Moore
