Are there any decent drivers out there?
Seriously, not a day goes by that I don’t see people doing really stupid stuff while driving.
On a daily basis, I run, walk, or bike a narrow road with a switchback. Every day, I encounter the same drivers. They are always cutting the blind corner and driving the 50 km/h zone as if it’s a highway.
I always get a laugh at the dumb look on their faces as they realize there is someone else on the road. After 20 years of meeting me on that corner, they still haven’t figured it out. Are these people really that stupid?
Why are people still talking on cellphones? Bluetooth technology is cheap and is available for everyone who drives a vehicle without a built-in system. If you can afford to have a cellphone and drive a vehicle, you can afford a Bluetooth speaker. There is no excuse!
And texting. Can it be more obvious? Do the texters really think they are fooling anyone as they hit the gravel shoulder, veer into the other lane, or sit at the green light?
What is with people driving in the passing lane, but not passing anyone? Is everyone from Alberta? Even after five cars pass them in the right lane, they still don’t get it.
Then there are the three to five cars that turn left through the red light because they are more important than everyone else.
And don’t get me started on people who approach a stop sign with the intent to turn right. No one stops. If you’re lucky, they may slow down, but don’t count on them actually looking right to see if there is a pedestrian.
I find it quite laughable that people blame high insurance rates on just about anything except the really bad drivers!
