Don't believe big business

Self checkouts are just another save-money investor scam.

I have complained Loblaw's. Now it's Walmart, too.

I am not employed by them to scan and bag my purchases.

Their prices are high and should include customer service. I never save money as a single person because everything is multiple.

I believe in service and employing people for a living not making customers work for the product they pay a premium for.

When I shop small stores, it is the people who bring me back because of friendly service, not machines.

The whole charging for plastic bags thing is a scam, too, with Loblaw's convincing the public they're going to save planet by charging for them. Instead, they millions in profit.

Yet they still sell items in hard plastic containers that I have to recycle, making me buy more waste bags.

We are a gullible society. Walmart told me they can't hire enough people. No one applies? I don't believe it.

For the first 25 years I lived here, I had to work for minimum wage part time to get by. In other provinces, I had full time at triple the wage.

Why do so many seniors work? They have to – to survive on the inadequate pension they paid into.

Now the stores are pushing order online and pick up. We are being forced by these stores for profit, no other reason.
