Where is the logic?
I traveled from Kelowna to Logan Lake this past weekend. I left here on Wednesday June 30 where the price of gasoline was 92.9 / litre. On the way through each little town with a gas station I took a mental note of the prices. Winfield is at 90.9 / litre, Falkland 91.9/ litre, Westwold 88.9/ litre. I was kicking myself after missing the gas station in Westwold as I figured that 88.9 / litre was a good price. One problem I have is that with my travel trailer attached I am over 39 feet in length. A little long to be stopping and turning around.
My problem came when I got into Kamloops. After stopping for a bite to eat, getting back on the road with my truck and travel trailer, I just about passed by a gas station that had 79.9 / litre. This was a Shell gas station, so for some unknown reason to myself the price for bronze unleaded was actually 76.9 / litre.
How can we all justify this large decrease in price for gasoline? The person in front of me said they came from Vancouver Island that morning where he says he paid 1.09 / litre. I can understand a slight increase from the mainland to the island as the trucks have to cross over the ocean via the ferry which is an added cost.
I cannot understand, however, how there can be 16.0 / litre difference between Kamloops and Kelowna. Price fixing I say, luxury tax? Some people say that it is because of vacationers pumping up the price of gas. I think it is truly bull#$%&!!.
When are we as a group of Canadians going to stop this? I am getting really sick and tired of raised taxes, paying more for fishing and hunting licenses, the government screwing over unions, and numerous other things that are just getting out of control. I don't know the solution, but I am sure ready to join a group of people ready to start something for change!!
Ready, aim, fire!!!
