Re: the city's public hearing on short-term rentals in Kelowna.
Your story states: "However, most who spoke were vehemently opposed to the exclusion of secondary suites and carriage houses from the list of acceptable rentals."
I am a new home owner. I am the only resident in a four-bedroom, two-bath home.
I will not entertain long-term rentals in my home due to the nature of my employment.
I would gladly entertain student rentals or short-term rentals.
Due to city council's recent bylaws regarding short-term rentals, I can assure everyone that my home will not be available for rent.
That is one less home available for rent in Kelowna. Those looking for a rental property can stay in a hotel, as that is what city council is promoting.
