Don't let them in!

Today, we present a series of letters from students at Kelowna Christian School

Migrants from Central America are coming to the southern border of the United States for safety.

This caravan has approximately 7,200 migrants from all over the world. Even though they are living in corruption, poverty and violence, there shouldn’t be this many people coming into the United States at one time in what looks to be an exodus.

At this point, we are not certain that these migrants are not involved in terrorism or are gang members. If the doors were open for anybody, they could be coming into the U.S. as criminals, and we wouldn’t even know it. These migrants shouldn’t be allowed to come into the U.S. in this manner.

How do we know who they really are if they could come from anywhere? Officials from Homeland Security say that some in the caravan are “gang members” and that they are people with “significant criminal histories.” President Donald Trump agrees.

These individuals need to be properly vetted through the standard immigrant process. It isn’t safe to let migrants in if you don’t know anything about them because these people want to come illegally. It also is not fair to the thousands of immigrants who are going through the process lawfully, in the correct way.

Trump has no choice but to stop this now or it would then never end. This will be just the beginning of an uncontrollable situation. They can’t let them in.
