Just a comment regarding the article “ Tools to attract more rentals” Number one opinion in my and many landlords thoughts is to give landlords quicker and easier ability to get rid of deadbeat tenants.
The current tenancy act makes it very difficult to deal with questionable tenants for a quick solution. Many, including myself, are now “gun-shy” to rent out a suite and have or are now considering Airbnb for the use of an available rental unit.
Yes, there are a number of questionable landlords as well as many good landlords and tenants. It’s the tenants that don’t pay rent, are messy, noisy, do illegal activities, initiate sour grape frivolous claims, that give pause to renting out a much needed unit when you can’t get rid of them.
Give me the days when landlords would put their stuff out front and change the locks.
