Drug problems nothing new

I have lived in Kelowna for 50 years, and can honestly say the city talks but doesn’t do the walk.

When I was a teenager, we did drugs in the park mescaline or LSD, that kinda stuff.

The same complaints then were coming in at that time also.

However, Kelowna's population was only 17,000 back then, and most of the homeless were Vietnam draft dodgers or runaway kids. It wasn't because of the affordability of housing or lack thereof.

However, promises were the same from our illustrious city hall.

Tourist still come.

The RCMP roster is getting bigger. Homeless and druggies have increased 20-fold. And the beat goes on.

The rich get richer and poor get poorer – and city hall still believes we're mushrooms.
