It might make a difference

Just a thought, perhaps if the water meters on our properties were suspended for a few weeks and we were asked to then water as much as we can – especially away from the lake, it might make a difference?
 
Evaporation would take some of the run off into the air. The amount that would soak into the ground would at least delay getting it to the lake. We would all have nice green grass and maybe it would lower the lake a little. If all the golf courses and farms were allowed to water as much as they could perhaps it would make a difference.
 
Switch the meters back on next month? Or even just apply last year’s bills to this period?
