Electricity monopoly

Regarding your recent news article on high electrical bills, I would like to add my frustration to the conversation, as our electrical costs have skyrocketed both at our business and home.

The two-tier pricing system Fortis employs penalizes consumers, while our utility companies dump power under contract to the US at ridiculous prices.  For those, such as myself, living where natural gas is not available, basic living costs are exorbitant due more so to electricity.  It is my sincere hope our Province and Federal regulators step into this matter to protect Canadian families who legitimately are damaged under this system.

I am not opposed to business making a profit; I am however opposed to a monopoly that has systematically leveraged its 'power' over middle and lower-class families who depend upon this essential utility.
