Happy ending for Mitzu

After 5 days of searching, with volunteers through Paws it Forward, and many more who saw the news story; Mitzu has been found!

Day after day, the sightings seemed to be all over the map which was discouraging. People were cold but some amazing volunteers brought by warm drinks and Tim bits, and the outpouring of love and community was heart warming.

In total well over 70 came out to help out and search, or be on the lookout in their cars. Around 90 people were signed into an app communicating, and Mitzu always seemed to disappear always shortly after being spotted.

After 5 days and 4 nights somehow Mitzu managed to survive the cold and the many predators. The estimated distance between where she was lost and found was well over 10 km, but she travelled much further. She was constantly moving up and down Kuipers peek. Mitzu went from the Ponds area, all the way to the Kettle Valley area, and then her little prints were spotted in the fresh snow around Sun City Cherries.

She was caught up behind a house finally!

When she landed in a volunteers arms she was exhausted. All the volunteers were so happy and it was amazing to see the little dog in someone's arms.

Mitzu was taken by Paws it Forward and Dr. Oz checked her out. She got a clean bill of health, not even any frost bite or hypothermia.

Paws it Forward was there every day, and the community seen within every volunteer was amazing. Everyone met new people and I'm sure all the volunteers would agree that Kelowna has some incredible people around.
