Yes, it is winter and with that comes snow. Even if all of it at once is not what anyone expected this year. Maybe it's just me but has anyone else noticed the lack of trucks removing snow from main roads?
I yet to see a residential street that has been cleaned as well. The budget shouldn't be all used up yet, it's barely snowed until now. Plus waiting for the sun to come out and melt it all away is not a form of snow removal.
Without proper and constant shovelling this only creates more hazardous conditions by packing the snow into a layer of ice. Parking lots are being completely cleared hours before I've seen the highway has been done, especially after snowing the entire night.
If the city is concerned about the noise bylaw, I do believe people would rather have clear streets instead of doing it themselves or the other option is having trouble going around a corner. Not to mention you need 4x4 to get through the piles of snow in some of the intersections.
So please, can someone ask the city council to hire these local guys with trucks if they can't seem to get their own staff to do it!
Thank you, end of rant.
