What are you doing?

An open letter to Christy Clark

Dear Miss Clark,

I am writing you in serious frustration, as I have emailed you before only to get a response that the issues I brought up to you, someone else was responsible for.

Issues I would like to address:

Legal heroin: I am not an illicit drug user, nor have I ever been. I am someone who smokes and has been prescribed medical marijuana for pain, PTSD, and issues as a result of a horrific accident in which I was left as an amputee. I would like to know why doctors will prescribe marijuana to patients who require it, and would rather use it instead of being prescribed and getting addicted to opioids?

There are now safe injection sites for these people, who are supervised while they do their drugs.  But, there is no  place in a hospital setting or medical setting for patients who are prescribed medical marijuana, to use their prescribed pain medication, to which, the user still has to pay for.  But the government wants to hand out free synthetic heroin to addicts, and invest hundreds of thousands of dollars into saving these peoples lives. At the same time you may as well provide all addicts with their choice of addiction. Free heroin, free alcohol for alcoholics, free medical marijuana for users, and how about a free houses for rapists. You are promoting a bad thing.

Employment and immigration: our province has its own people to look after. Why are you approving work permits for people from other countries to come in and take our jobs, and your giving them an incentive to move her by being exempt from Foreign Buyers Tax when purchasing a home? Yet there are BC and citizens who have lived and worked in this country since birth and are unemployed and cannot afford to buy a home.

Why should we vote for you again.  I would really like a response.

Laura Egeland
