This is an open letter to the residents of West Kelowna, of Westbank, of the area.
Last year, the Warriors put our name on the map. We're not just the city west of Kelowna anymore. We're home to National Champions, the underdogs of the BCHL. But that's all going to change soon.
For some of us, the end of this year is going to be like saying goodbye to family. While it may not be that way for everyone in our town, this team meant so much to so many people. For me, I know my heart breaks a little more knowing Royal LePage will soon be empty and won't be home to anyone.
So, I'm asking everyone reading this to come out for a game, to cheer on and support the boys. Help us fill out the seats, help us fill the stands with red and gold, help us let them know that they're our hometown heroes and no matter where they move to, they'll always be our team. Let's give them a thank you and goodbye worthy of them, and worthy of us.
