Airsoft pistols

Regarding the story of the kids shooting other kids with Airsoft pistols, I think the kids must be made aware that it could cause serious damage if it were to hit someone in the eye.  Remember what our parents used to say "it's always fun until someone loses an eye!"  Well, we used to laugh at that but now we are older we know it really can happen all too easily. 

Parents of the kids who have them probably think they are just fun toys but there is another issue as well.  I wonder how many others reading these news stories have had the thought after seeing the pictures on Castanet of the Airsoft pistols, how from a distance they certainly could be taken as a real gun.  To me, that makes it dangerous for the kids carrying and shooting the guns as well as the ones they are shooting at. 

I would hate to see a situation where a police officer was in a scenario where he thinks it is someone carrying a real gun and posing a real threat to others.  Bad guys are much younger these days and in this day and age it could result in a far different and tragic outcome than back when every kid on the block played cops and robbers with cap guns.

Maybe I'm making a mountain out of a molehill but…
