Getting hosed, again

After reading the article in regards to gas pricing in Kelowna, I just have to laugh. The newest version of Mr. McTeague’s  bunch of BS. Every single time that guy makes a comment in regards to gas pricing in Kelowna, his story changes. That Gas-Buddy outfit or whatever you want to call it does not do anything to solve the “problem”! All they do is telling you where the cheapest price is.

All they achieve with that is p*** off consumers. You can’t buy your fuel anywhere else to save a single cent. The only time that works, is if you are travelling anyway and find a cheaper place along your route.

However, this time McTeague went out of his way (or ran out of some of his BS explanations) and is blaming the retailers. What retailer? There has been no such thing for a long time. The retailers are the oil companies and the people that run the places are not even on salary, they are on a commission.

But now there is a new way of saying what everybody knows for years -  yes, you guessed it -  it’s called “price fixing” which is, as far as I know, still illegal.

Should there be just one independent gas station in Kelowna, how would it be possible to set the price for the whole city? Getting caught fixing prices isn't cheap and can only be done by the untouchables. We all know who they are. And if you think of getting help from our elected government, dream on!
