Tipping

I have to be honest, Earls has never been one of my favourite places to eat. The staff have always been great but the menu just doesn’t have my kind of choices.

The latest move to include a 16% tip in the bill was the final blow. I wouldn’t be surprised if the tip is on the total bill including taxes which would make it more like 18%. Paying a tip on taxes is something I will never do.

The excuse given that the back staff don’t get their share is nonsense. Many restaurants have a policy of sharing tips. The person providing the service, good or bad is the one that should get the largest share as they have earned it.

Just my two cents.
