Abortion A Woman's Choice

I absolutely agree with K.J. on her write up on abortions titled 'Fetus viable at 25 weeks'.

I get so annoyed every time I see these people walking back and forth in front of the hospital with their signs strewn along the sidewalk for a block and posted on their back. The messages on some of these signs just make me roll my eyes. I think these people are lacking education on this topic, and I also feel that these people must not know of anyone who has been adopted and seen or understood what they go through. Maybe these people do not know of anyone who has.

I don't agree with using abortion for a birth control method, but if it is an unwanted child, maybe because of your age (too young or too old) or you are raped or it's an 'oops' that you're not financially prepared for, then what is the big deal? Is it not better for woman to have an abortion then for them to have an unwanted child? What if the mother is a substance abuser? Or just doesn't care during the pregnancy because it's unwanted anyway? Why bring a child into the world that is going to have problems its whole life?

Abortion should remain the woman's choice. It is her body, her life and I'm sure she knows what is best. Take your signs home and worry about your own body and children/grandchildren (as I notice the majority of 'walkers' are seniors). Maybe spend the time working with those who were born and unwanted and are having to deal with the consequences.

-S.Z.
