In reply to: Gas prices - again
To the person who wrote the letter complaining about gas prices. You (and me and everyone who lives here) are the reason our prices are higher than most places. Demand drives prices and Kelowna likes to drive.
I don't drive a lot as I work from home, however when I do go out, I bet you 90% of the cars on the road have single occupants. I have heard of couples who both drive to work even if they start work at the same time, and work close together geographically. Yet both spouses feel the need to drive 2 cars to work on a daily basis.
Really, when you drive past Orchard Park Mall at 1:00 PM on a Tuesday and it's a crawl, you know that too many people are driving.
I hate driving in this city because of that - it doesn't seem to matter what time of day, or what route you take it's just busy everywhere. Springfield from Rutland to the hospital? Busy. Highway through town? It's a crawl at the best of times. Enterprise? Forget about it. And this is June - wait 3 weeks.
You want to lower the price of gas? Drive less. Don't ask government to solve our problems because that is what they are - problems created by us.
