Please don’t tell me the answer to the problem of drug addicts leaving their dirty needles anywhere they want is to rent or buy a building, staff it with nurses and/or doctors, pay taxes and utilities on these buildings, purchase insurance, phones, advertising, office equipment, supplies etc., so we can inject these people with drugs.
If this is truly the answer, then why don’t we rent limos and chauffeurs for people so they don’t drink and drive. Or when marginalized bank robbers are walking into a branch, we can just hand them a bag of cash. If people are going to do home invasions, let’s just leave the doors open for them. Next we will be giving trophies to all the school kids whether they win or lose.
I think the problem is we supply needles now, at no expense, with no questions asked. Well of course they don’t care where they end up, they didn’t have to do anything to get them.
I think we should stop giving them out. If they need to reuse them, they may take better care of them. Someone will be at risk. I chose them (the users) and not the little kids playing at the local park.
