Kelowna's thousands of pet guardians might be interested to know about Bill C-246, the "Modernizing Animal Protections Act".
The bill was tabled in the House of Commons on February 26th by MP Nathaniel Erskine-Smith. It was presented as a private member's bill and as such, stands little chance of becoming law. I have already asked my MP to vote in favour of this bill.
If you are opposed to shark-finning, puppy mills, or the importation of cat and dog fur (not identified as such), please call your MP and ask him or her to support Bill C-246. There is a great deal of information available online about the bill. It received second reading on March 3rd.
Please let your MP know where you stand on animal protection.
