An open letter to the Castanet readers who wish to chastise Robert Goertzen for his decision to keep working at his existing job, after winning a lottery.
Mr. Goertzen should be commended for his loyalty to his employer, whom from the sounds of it, gave Mr. Goertzen support when he needed it most. Also remember Mr. Goertzen chose to stay in Kelowna at a much lower pay scale, rather than flitting off, like the greener pasture bunch that is now whining and complaining because of their short term greed for a fast buck with no future.
So how much money is a person allowed to have before they are forced to quit their existing job? Strange that information is not available in our Canadian Charter of Rights. Hmmm I wonder why?
I am a long term Kelowna worker myself who ignored the greener pastures and did not need the toys and all the bells and whistles. Quite a lot of my stuff is paid for. If I won $60 million I would not quit my job either, because I have a job that I love and I work with one of the best employers in Kelowna. It sounds like Mr. Goertzen works with the other best employer.
