Taxes vs. oil profits

Paying $4.75 per gallon ($1.05 a litre) at the pumps when a barrel (45 Imperial gallons) is less than $30.00 makes me wonder if I'm being screwed. By whom, I wonder?

Current pump prices would make a 45 gallon barrel of oil cost $213.57. That's a $183.57 differential. Is this really the oil company profit and government tax grab gratuity?

Is something rotten in Denmark? Or Canada?
