I'd like to share an interesting, almost humorous observation.
I often see people with signs that state, "need work" or "will work for food", on Harvey Avenue. Typically these people seeking employment setup shop between Orchard Park Mall and the Esso near Spall/Harvey.
What I find funny is that they are a block or two away from Labor Unlimited - a temporary employment office that states if you work today, you get paid today.
I believe that there are people that have poverty forced upon them and require help. I also believe there are people that choose poverty as a way of life, whether they know it or not. I would think that those earnest job seekers with their cardboard resumes on Harvey Avenue fall into the latter category and contribute to the difficulty society has wrestling with poverty.
