ABC - Is it possible?

Most voters fall into one of two categories: Conservative or Anyone-But-Conservative (aka ABC).

Unfortunately for ABC’s, “vote splitting” is an issue. While Conservatives are united under one political party, the ABC’s are divided into two.

With such strong Conservative support in KLC, the only way to defeat Harper is for the left side to band together and vote for one candidate. The only question for ABC voters is who?

The Liberal candidate, Stephen Fuhr, has been dominating polls. Numerous national websites have endorsed him as the SV in Kelowna-Lake Country, including threehundredandeight.com, strategicvoting.ca, anyonebutharper.net, and 1votematters.ca. Castanet polls suggest that there is substantially more support behind Fuhr than the NDP candidate.

The Liberals have also received the support of the local Green party, further expanding their numbers.

Furthermore, a shift from soft Conservatives is necessary to succeed. They may be willing to consider voting Liberal (centre-left), but will not consider NDP (far left). If they do swing, they will choose Liberal.

Some consider strategic voting “undemocratic”. However, all three left-wing party’s have committed to electoral reform and abolishing the current, unfair electoral system. If the Tories are ousted, this will be the last time that strategic voting will be necessary. Don’t vote strategically to spite democracy, but do it FOR democracy.

All considered, it’s clear that Liberal candidate Fuhr is the ABC vote in Kelowna-Lake Country as he has the best chance of winning in this riding.

If you want Harper out, vote ABC for Liberal candidate Stephen Fuhr.
