Re: Wearing a mask to vote

Quinn Wright’s letter, 'Wearing a Mask to Vote', speaks of Religious Freedom being the justification for certain people to be allowed to wear a disguise while doing "all" things in Canada.  I'm not an Islamist or even a practising Christian, as a matter of fact I don't believe in the man-made entities of organized religion, I consider myself Agnostic while being Spiritual.  Since I am very aware through the indoctrination and programming of my youth that "Christians" tend to interpret the Bible and the meaning of Christianity to suit their individual purpose and tend to practise their idea of Christianity only when they feel like it, I have been wondering if some Islamists choose to claim that a Full-Face Covering is a Religious Requirement while in reality it does not have anything at all to do with the Islamic faith.  My question is -- "Is there anything, anywhere, in actual fact, written in the Quran (Koran) that states women must wear a Full-Face Covering at any time, in the home or out in public??"  Or is this simply some fundamentalist or fanatic deciding this is something they, as an individual, need to do -- sort of like "Christians" scourging (flailing) themselves or wearing a Seles to honour Christ?

Do we, as a country, kowtow to every whim and fancy of every individuals claim that "it is their Right" or do we identify ourselves as a society (civilization) -- where individuals gather and organize together for the benefit and protection of the whole?

And yah, we should have better Rules for ensuring that people are who they claim to be -- but by Quinn Wright's definition, each individual has the "Right" to make their own Rules -- I mean it’s guaranteed by our "Charter of Rights and Freedoms" right?  Lets have a "Free-for-all", after all, we're all individuals and it is our "Right", hey Quinn.
