I just wanted to say with the negativity surrounding health care, and me, being probably the biggest pessimist of them all, I am totally in shock. My father is a "common person" with no ties to politicians but last week had a heart attack, and within days, he has received the utmost care & attention and has been placed in superior care, via Nanaimo and now Victoria, and is slated to have his surgery (quad bypass) on Friday, May 14.
I have always had my doubts about the political spectrum of our health care system and wondering what would happen in the event of "what- if". The "what-if" just happened and beyond the obvious worries, I am so thankful that I can at least know my Dad is a priority in the "system" but more than anything, I thank the nurses, doctors, the support staff and their care and attention to helping him. To all the health workers, their concern and endurance, from the bottom of my heart I thank you. You are those people we can never thank enough. God bless you and your efforts for people like my Dad who has given so much of himself in public service too. Say a prayer for his surgery on Friday. You rock & I wish I could hug you all.
