Welcome to the real world! Most of us work in the private sector and we don’t have job security. If our employer can no longer afford to pay us, or we fail to meet certain standards, we lose our job - end of story. Where do these people think the money is going to come from? They will still be one of the highest paid in the country, and to top it off they have wonderful benefits that most of us in the private sector can only dream of.
They should be thankful they have a job. If they don’t like it, get out. I know plenty of people who would like to get into the health sector because of the pay and benefits, but can’t because there is a long waiting list, perhaps this waiting list should now be opened and let these people in and send the existing workers into the real world - yikes! As for Joy McPhail’s comments, she would have done the same thing and I am sure the Liberals would have said exactly what she said - since when does the opposition ever agree - now that is something to dream about!
