As a huge supporter of concerts, hockey games etc that occur in Prospera Place, we are shocked that the city is unable to deal with the traffic that flows from these events.
We believe that the city, or powers to be, would benefit greatly by going to other major centerers and see how easily traffic can be dispersed after a major event. There is no need to have traffic snarled up for half and hour just driving from Prospera place to the bridge. We have gone to huge games and concerts in GM Place and have spent less time in traffic.
It is beyond belief that a lane on the bridge would be shut down at this time with traffic backed up this far. The reason we went from a two lane bridge to a three lane bridge is so that traffic would flow better (and there was no construction going on at the time).
If we build a 5 lane bridge are we going to close up 3 lanes at certain times? It is time for someone in charge to wake up. Yes we know it costs money to have security or police direct traffic for 20 minutes. We are growing into a big centre now, you so let's deal with it.
Waiting patiently in traffic,
-D.K. and J.K.
