Part of Crawford Rd washed out
A portion of Crawford Road near DeHart Road has been washed out from Wednesday's storm.
Castanet video reporter, Kelly Hayes, says emergency officials have closed the road and are telling everyone to stay away from the area.
The area is experiencing major water flow issues as a result of Wednesday's rain.
The storm also caused a rock slide in the area.
Firefighters in the area helped dislodge a car that was caught in the deluge of water and mud.
Meantime, Wednesday's storm caused flooding on several other Central Okanagan streets, started at least two brush fires, and has caused widespread power outages.
Castanet has received reports of flooding in East Kelowna as well as the area around Dilworth Drive and Leckie Road.
Fire department crews have been run off their feet to deal with the situation.
Lightning started a small grass fire above Lakha Road in the Ellison area. Witnesses say the fire was doused by the accompanying rain.
Another small fire was reported above Roberts Lake south of the Glenmore Landfill.
Lightning was also responsible for a forest fire on East Hill near Vernon.
