The blade of an X-Acto style knife was ultimately responsible for a death of a 33-year-old Peachland man.
An autopsy performed Wednesday confirmed Cody Doucette bled to death as a result of an injury under his right arm.
Regional Coroner, Mark Coleman confirmed those findings.
According to police, a man suffered serious injuries Saturday after being with a stolen truck in the Black Mountain area off of Philpott Road.
Sgt. Ann Morrison says a person who was with the stolen truck came back, with an upper torso wound, to where a friend was waiting in another car. The friend called 911.
Doucette died as a result of his injuries at Kelowna General Hospital.
Coleman says a piece of the knife blade was stuck Doucette.
"We're still investigating the circumstances in terms of how that exactly transpired," says Coleman.
"All indications are that this was an accidental event. Police had no concerns that this was foul play."
Coleman says the Coroner's Office will try now to piece together the events which led to Doucette's death.
