Kelowna home swarmed by police after shooting
Police investigate shooting
The Kelowna RCMP are investigating a targeted shooting over the weekend.
Police say a man showed up at Kelowna General Hospital early Sunday with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
Investigators were led to a home in the 200-block of Asher Road in Kelowna, where tactical officers were called in.
Neighbours say officers used a loudspeaker to tell the occupants to the home they were under arrest and asked them to exit the home with their hands up.
“We believe this incident to be targeted and does not pose a risk to public safety,” said Cpl. Michael Gauthier Kelowna RCMP media relations officer, in a news release Monday.
“The investigation remains ongoing and in order to protect its integrity, no further information will be provided at this time.”
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP Serious Crime Unit tip line at 250-470-3236 and reference file number 2025-3237.
